Counselor's Corner
Hello Timberwolves Family! My name is Mrs. Dawn Maus Roberts and I am so blessed to be back at GMMS as your School Counselor!
A quick note about me! I am an ‘89 graduate of ESJHS, attended SLU in Hammond, and Delgado in New Orleans before moving to Texas! There I continued with my education, receiving degrees from LeTourneau University, Western Governors University (M.Ed), and finishing my Mental Health and School Counselor degree at University of the Southwest (M.S. Ed)!
I have been in the educational field since 1999 beginning as a paraprofessional, registrar, attendance clerk, teacher, curriculum, ESL Coach, and School Counselor. I have also worked outside of the public-school systems in Louisiana and Texas with young students through mental health services, and general education courses.
I believe that we each can make a difference in others' lives no matter how big or small we are, nor how small or large the task seems. A smile goes a long way when someone is sad, and a pat on the back when they have accomplished a goal. Together we can make a difference.
With the constant changes in our world and society, we must strive to be great character superheroes and show the world that we can make good, positive choices to assist our fellow man or woman. Our character, integrity, and spirit are our driving force to do remarkable things. Let us all make each day a momentous day – or not – the choice is yours
